VOLUME vs CloudPano: 360 tour builder or phone splat

Short answer

CloudPano is a 360 virtual tour platform: you shoot panoramas with a 360 camera or DSLR, upload them, and build a hotspot-linked tour in the browser, hosted on CloudPano with white-label and lead options on higher plans. VOLUME is a video-to-splat service: one phone walkthrough becomes a free-movement 3D scene with no camera and no tour-building step. CloudPano suits operators who own a 360 camera and want control over the tour's structure; VOLUME suits anyone with a phone who wants a walkable result without assembling it.

VOLUME Virtual

How is each tour made?

CloudPano. Capture 360 panoramas, typically with a consumer 360 camera such as a Ricoh Theta or Insta360 on a tripod, or stitched from a DSLR. Upload the panoramas to CloudPano, then build the tour: place hotspots that link one panorama to the next, add info points, labels, a floor plan image if you have one, and branding. The result is a hosted tour you share by link or embed.

VOLUME. Record one continuous walkthrough video on your phone. Upload it. The reconstruction runs on its own; there is nothing to build. The result is a hosted Gaussian-splat tour you share by link or embed, plus the file.

CloudPano's model gives you editorial control: which points, which hotspots, what labels. VOLUME's model gives you none of that and asks nothing of you after the walk.

What does the visitor experience?

A CloudPano tour is panorama-to-panorama. The visitor looks around freely from each spot and clicks a hotspot to jump. Transitions can be animated but the viewpoint is always one of the captured spots. Info hotspots, floor-plan navigation, and a branded frame are available.

A VOLUME tour is free movement. The visitor walks, turns, and moves to places no single frame was shot from. There are no hotspots, info points, or floor-plan navigation. The viewer is deliberately minimal: the space, a poster frame while it loads, and an optional lead form.

For a space where the story is a sequence of views, panoramas with hotspots tell it well. For a space where the story is the layout, free movement tells it better.

Hosting, branding, and ownership

CloudPano hosts tours on its platform under a subscription. Higher tiers offer white-label domains and branding removal, lead-capture forms, and more tours. Panoramas are your own files; the assembled tour lives in CloudPano. Check their current plan page for limits and prices.

VOLUME hosts tours on volumevirtual.com. Single purchases include 12 months of hosting; subscriptions include hosting while active. Every tour is downloadable as a splat file you can host yourself. White-label domains are in development for the Custom tier and not for sale yet. The unbranded link strips VOLUME's chip and your identity for MLS use.

Who is each one for?

Choose CloudPano if: you already own a 360 camera, you shoot tours for clients and want branded, white-labelled deliverables, you want control over hotspots and labels, or you need a floor-plan navigation layer and have the plan image.

Choose VOLUME if: you have no camera and do not want one, you want a walkable scene rather than linked panoramas, you want the file, or you want to upload and move on rather than assemble a tour.

Agents who photograph their own listings with a phone tend to land on VOLUME. Tour operators with a kit and a client base tend to land on a 360 platform like CloudPano and may add splats later.

What neither of them does

Neither produces calibrated measurements. Neither replaces listing photography. CloudPano can display a floor plan you supply; VOLUME cannot display one at all. For measured floor plans from capture, look at iGUIDE. For a hardware-based 3D scan with a dollhouse, look at Matterport.

What VOLUME does here

VOLUME reconstructs a Gaussian splat from a 60-second to 5-minute phone video, through a third-party pipeline, with a target turnaround under an hour that is typical rather than guaranteed. You get a branded URL, an unbranded URL, an iframe embed, a WordPress shortcode, lead capture, per-tour analytics, and the downloadable file. $79 per tour, $99 a month for five, $299 a month for teams. No camera, no tour builder, no floor plans.

Questions people ask

Can I add hotspots or labels to a VOLUME tour?
No. The viewer is the space itself, a poster frame, and a lead form. Annotation is not a feature today.
Can I use my 360 camera footage with VOLUME?
No. VOLUME needs ordinary phone video, not equirectangular panoramas or 360 video.

Try it on your next listing.

Your first tour is free, no card at signup. After that a single tour is $79. If a usable walkthrough can't be reconstructed, you're never charged.
