How to film a walkthrough.On the phone in your pocket.

Seven steps to a usable take.
- 01
Prep the space
Open blinds, turn on every light, and put away clutter. Even, bright light gives the cleanest reconstruction. Close closet doors you don't want captured; open the ones you do.

Set up your phone
Use the rear camera at normal (1×) lens. Lock exposure if your phone lets you, so brightness doesn't jump between rooms. Film horizontally for embeds, or vertically only if you also want a social cut. Wipe the lens.

Hold it steady, at head height
Keep the phone level and around eye height, both hands, elbows in. Move your whole body slowly rather than panning the wrists. Smooth and slow beats fast every time.

Walk the edges, then the middle
Enter each room, walk the perimeter facing the walls, then cross through the centre. Capture corners, and pause a beat at doorways so rooms connect cleanly.

Go room by room in a logical loop
Follow the path a visitor would take — entry, living areas, kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, outdoor space — without doubling back or teleporting. One continuous take is ideal.

Avoid the common mistakes
No fast whips, no zooming, no fingers over the lens, no walking backward. Don't film in the dark or into bright windows. Mirrors and glass can confuse the reconstruction — capture them straight-on, briefly.

Send it over
A single 2–6 minute clip, usually under 1 GB, is plenty. Upload via our link (up to ~4 GB) or send larger files by WeTransfer/Drive. Don't pre-compress — we re-encode on intake.
